We have one 8mm and Super 8 film reel digitizer available for checkout that converts 8mm and Super 8 reels to digital video files (1080p MP4s). Includes:

3 black lights and 6 glow in the dark play scarves for science lessons, or parties.

We have 2 boomboxes available for free check out. One plays: CD's, cassettes, and radio. The other plays CD's and radio.  Power cords are included.

The boombox must be checked out and returned to Palmer Library. See staff to check out.

We have Kill A Watt electricity usage monitors available for free checkout to library patrons. Plug an appliance into the reader. The large LCD screen will display the power consumption by the kilowatt-hour. You can figure out which appliances are using the most energy, and calculate electrical expenses.  See staff to check out.

We have 1 kidnoculars kit. The GeoSafari Kidnoculars are a pair of binoculars designed for kids. Kit also includes a laminated nature scavenger hunt sheet and a dry erase marker.

We have 2 dream machine kits. The Little Tikes Story Dream Machine is a projector with swappable story cartridges that will create an immersive read along experience. Each of our kits comes with the dream machine, 12 storybook cartridges, 4 character figurines from the stories, and a softshell carrying case. Batteries are included.

The first dream machine kit comes with the following story cartridges: The saggy baggy elephant; The poky little puppy; Tenggren's tawny scrawny lion; Go, go places!; Go, go, cars!; Go, go, trucks!; Chicken in mittens; Chicken on vacation; Chicken in charge; My first trip to the farm; Elmo visits the dentist; Elmo's furry friend.

We have two microscope kits with prepared slides included available for checkout. Each kit includes:

We have a portable CD player available for free check out. This item can play any audio CD. Headphones are required. Power cords are included.

The CD player must be checked out and returned to Palmer Library. See staff to check out.

Our 15 player rhythm set is a great hands on introduction to rhythm instruments. The set includes: 1 tambourine, 1 tom-tom, 1 jingle clog, 1 triangle, 1 wrist bell, 1 cluster bell, 1 hand bell, 1 guiro tone block, 1 pair of brass cymbals, 1 pair of maracas, 2 pairs of sand blocks, 2 pairs of rhythm sticks, and 2 pairs of wooden mallets.

Each comes with themed stamps, contents photo, cleaning instructions & stamp tips, carry bag & box, 1 inked stamp pad, stamp cleaner, and toothbrush. 

  • Please supervise children when using stamps and inks.
  • Okay to use your own inks and stamp pads. Please do not mix colors on stamp pads.
  • Patron is responsible for cleaning and thoroughly drying stamps before returning.
  • Some stamps may be stained from past use. This is acceptable.
  • DO NOT USE PAINT, permanent marker, or other products not formulated for use with stamps. 

Stamp kits must be checked out and returned to Palmer Library.
Choose a yellow card, located in the General Collection room and bring it to the desk to check out.
Stamp kits may NOT be returned in any of the book drops. Please hand it directly to staff to count contents and check in.

We have one video magnifier device for checkout to enhance the reading experience for people with vision loss and other visual disabilities. The video mag kit includes the video magnifier with built in wrist strap, along with a softshell carrying case, an instruction manual, a power supply and USB cable, a cleaning cloth. 

This item requires signing a borrowing agreement in order to check out. Item must be checked out and returned to Palmer Library. See staff for borrowing agreement and to check out.
