Website Linking

The Palmer Public Library website exists to provide patrons and staff with electronic access to our collection, as well as numerous educational and informative resources. To this end, the library maintains links to select websites that support our mission of education and outreach. Selection and maintenance of links on the library website is done at the discretion of the Palmer Library Director.

The following criteria are evaluated when deciding whether or not to add a linked website:

  • The intent of the linked website should be to inform or educate, not to sell or advertise.
  • The linked website should be stable, free to use, and have a clean, well-organized layout.
  • The linked website creator/sponsor and their contact information should be easily identifiable on the linked website.
  • The linked website’s content should be verifiable, regularly updated, and appropriate for multiple age ranges.

Preference is generally given to non-profit (.org), educational (.edu), and government (.gov) sites. The library reserves the right to refuse linking, and to delete existing links on the library website at any time. Questions regarding the addition or removal of links should be addressed to the Webmaster. The Library Director makes all final decisions.

Palmer Public Library staff will make every effort to ensure links work, in keeping with our website mission. However, sites may change or disappear without notification. If you find a broken or inaccurate link, please contact the Webmaster. Include the URL of the page on our website where you found the link, and the name of the link. The Palmer Public Library, and the City of Palmer, cannot be held responsible for the accuracy or content of third party linked websites.
