Warren “Bud” Woods Palmer Municipal Airport Influence Area

The City of Palmer, the Airport Advisory Commission and our Aviation Engineering Consultants have been working together in an effort to develop, define and refine an area surrounding the Palmer Municipal Airport which may experience activities associated with various operations at the airport or have FAA guidance associated with properties in a close proximity to the airport.  This area has now been defined as the “Airport Influence Area”.

The Airport Influence Area was designed as a way to inform the airports surrounding; “current and future” property owners and/or developers, about the close proximity in which they live to the airport and its associated activities.  The designated Airport Influence Area puts no further restrictions on our neighboring property owners and is not designed to encumber any property, but rather to make sure that there is an awareness of several levels of influence.

  • UAV activity within 5 miles of the airport
  • FAA part 77 construction notification guidelines
  • Approach and Departure tracks to the airport
  • 60 DNL noise contours associated with airport activities

The influence area can also be seen in the figure by reviewing the attachment below.
