CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Compression

CPR training is important. It can save your life, your children's lives, your parents' lives, or even a stranger's life. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, more commonly known as CPR, is a life-saving technique that helps maintain blood flow to the brain and heart in an emergency situation.

Start with your safety. Continue with your safety. At any point the area becomes hazardous or dangerous, do not become a victim.

Assess the person. If they appear unconscious, call for help and assistance. Check for a pulse.
If no pulse, start compressions. Hard (2 in down), Fast (100-120 per min), allow recoil and continuous compressions to minimize interruptions.

Early detection of the problem is the first step in surviving a cardiac arrest. If someone can recognize the issue and start the response process early, the chances of survivability increase significantly.
