To serve our community even better, we are rolling out a Post Your Address Numbers project!

The Greater Palmer Fire Service area in conjunction with the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and Fire Service areas have purchased address signs to provide to residents.  Greater Palmer Fire Service Area has 50 signs to give out which will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Per Mat-Su Borough Code 11.20.060, property owners are required to post the assigned street address number on the addressed building and in a location that is visible from the street.

1. The owner of any lot with a building assigned to a street number shall post the assigned street address number on or in front of the addressed building or lot in a location where it is visible from the street.
2. Street address numbers shall contrast the background and shall be not less than four inches in height.
3. On any lot facing more than one street, the assigned address shall be posted to face only the street addressed.
4. The street number shall be posted no more than 50 feet from the street.

• Signs should be posted at a height reasonable for emergency vehicles to be able to see with nothing blocking the view of the sign from the street or road.
