Richard Clark

Richard Clark grew up in southeastern Connecticut and enlisted in the Army in 2012, at the age of 18. Clark served with the 101st Airborne Division as a Mortarman in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, until his completion of service in 2015. After departing the military, Clark relocated to Anchorage where he was employed by the District Attorney’s Office for several years as a legal assistant. Clark was sworn in as a Reserve Police Officer in January of 2017 and, in May of 2017, was sworn in as a full time Police Officer with the City of Palmer. Clark attended the University of Alaska’s Law Enforcement Training Academy and was named Palmer Police Department’s Officer of the Year in 2018. Clark is currently assigned as a Detective with an emphasis on drug investigations. Clark holds specialized skill sets pertaining to law enforcement to include being a certified DEA Investigator, having advanced training in interview and interrogation methods, being a member of the Mat-Su Crisis Intervention Team, and being a recognized Police Instructor through the Alaska Police Standards Council. Clark additionally oversees the Reserve Officer Program at the Palmer Police Department and supervises four Reserve Police Officers, ensuring their professional growth and development through training and experience.
